You've spent years imaging this day.
Not just picturing it, but building it detail by detail. The venue that finally felt like you. The dress you tried on a hundred times in your mind before you chose it. The florals spilling down the aisle. The heirloom jewellery you've been dreaming of.
And then, it arrives. Your father's glassy eyes, as he sees you for the first time. The hush before the ceremony, when the whole room holds its breath. Silk flowing as you walk. Champagne spilling into glasses. Laughter drifting into the evening air, unhurried and golden.
Later, when the music is loud, the candles have burned low, and you slip away together for a shared moment, you'll remember why this day was never really about the guests, or the florals, or the perfectly pressed linen. It was always about the two of you.
